GM Le Quang Liem climbs to 33rd in November FIDE rankings
Vietnamese Grandmaster Le Quang Liem moved up 17 places to 33rd position in the FIDE men’s world rankings for November due to his superior performance at several international competitions last month.

Liem’s latest achievement was the attainment of the second SPICE Cup title in the US nearly a fortnight ago, following the first one in 2011.
The Vietnamese star scored a total of seven points after nine matches, thereby claiming the overall crown alongside a stake of US$5,000.
Earlier, Liem finished as runner-up at the 2015 Millionaire Chess Open tournament earning US$50,000 in prize money and an additional 14 elo points.
Those outstanding results added 21.2 elo points to Liem’s FIDE rating against October, lifting him to 33rd place of the standard chess category with a new elo rating of 2,718.
Regarding the rapid chess ranking, Liem stood at 16th in the world with an elo rating of 2,758. Meanwhile, he settled for 11th place in the blitz division with an elo rating of 2,799.
