Seminar on development of community tourism and ancient village heritage management

As a part of the second ancient village festival at Dong Hoa Hiep (Cai Be district) in 2015 held by Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism in collaboration with the Cai Be district People’s Committee, seminar on development of community tourism and ancient village heritage management took place in the cultural house of Dong Hoa Hiep commune.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the ancient village of Dong Hoa Hiep was established in the eighteenth century with many houses built by precious woods, unique architecture, combining the East with West. Although many houses here went through the events of the war as well as many time, they retained many traditional architectural values of the Vietnamese. The ancient village of Dong Hoa Hiep included in tourism in 1995.

At the seminar, there was many opinions to share experience in managing and operating ancient village Dong Hoa Hiep to serve tourists as well as possible solutions to exploit the tourism potential of local joint direction the region, raising simultaneously measures to improve competitiveness, diversifying towards services to meet the needs of visitors to Cai Be.

Besides, participants also said that the State management agency on tourism, local governments, tourism businesses and local communities Dong Hoa Hiep commune needed to combine with each other to preserve and promote the value of cultural heritage of ancient village Dong Hoa Hiep in developing community tourism sustainably and effectively.
