The festival will feature booths offering Japanese specialties, such as traditional Kadomatsu decorations and carp lanterns. It will also present a variety of Japanese food stores including Crepe, Takoyaki, Okonomiyaki, Dorayaki, Sushi, Kuzumochi.
The event will show traditional Japanese activities, including Yosakoi performances, a traditional Japanese dance, and a cosplay programme of Japanese comics and cartoon characters, and particularly live performances by Tips Lips and Hanoi Defkay, two music bands whose members are Japanese people living in Hanoi.
The festival’s name “Ake Ome! 2015” originates from a Japanese saying: “Akemashite omedetou” which means Happy New Year.
Ake Ome! 2015, which is expect to attract about 20,000 visitors, is to create a fascinating playground for young people and strengthen ties between Vietnam and Japan.
