UNESCO-recognized Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival in Vietnam

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in cooperation with the Thanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee has just organized the Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival, as recognized by UNESCO.

Seven art troupes from seven provinces and cities, home to the intangible cultural heritage of Vietnam as recognized by UNESCO, attended the festival including Hanoi, Thua Thien-Hue, Bac Giang, Phu Tho, Kon Tum, Nghe An and Thanh Hoa.

The art troupes performed art forms recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritages of the World.

At the festival, tourists enjoyed the Intangible Cultural Heritages in Vietnam such as the Hue royal court music, the Cultural Space of Gong in the Central Highlands, Quan Ho folk singing, Ca Tru ceremonial singing, and Vi Giam folk singing of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces.

The UNESCO-recognized Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival in Vietnam aimed to honour and preserve the cultural heritages, as well as introduce local and international people to the potential of culture and heritages of the Vietnamese country and people, and to connect cultural heritages in provinces and cities across the country.

The art troupes from seven provinces and cities performed to serve tourists at World Heritage Sites including the Ho Dynasty Citadel in Vinh Loc district and Lam Kinh historical heritage site in Tho Xuan district.
