Cherry Blossom Festival to open in Ho Chi Minh city

The Ho Chi Minh city People’s Committee has announced the Cherry Blossom Festival 2016 will open at the September 23rd Park in district 1 on April 22nd - 23rd.

A variety of cultural and arts exchanges will be held during the event, such as a travel expo presenting destinations, tourism products and services, a food fair, a seminar promoting cooperation and tourism development investment, art performances and more.

On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh ity People’s Committee will organize an investment promotion seminar on tourism to popularize Vietnam’s tourism potential and introduce the traditional culture of Vietnam and Japan in general and Ho Chi Minh in particular to the Vietnamese and Japanese businesses and tourists.

Nguyen Thi Thu, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, said the festival will contribute to strengthening bilateral diplomatic relation between the two nations, intensifying trade and tourism development cooperation as well.

The event is part of activities to celebrate the 43rd anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Japan.

Earlier, a Cherry Blossom Festival also took place March 18th-21st in Ha Long city in the northern province of Quang Ninh.
