Workshop seeks way for tourism development in Tien Giang

On March 31, Tien Giang Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism has organized a workshop seeks way for tourism development in Tien Giang. Researchers, tourism companies, leaders of the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province, Ben Tre province and Long An province attended this workshop.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tien Giang, the province has 50 enterprises for travel tourism, 24 main tourism area, 234 establishments of tourist accommodation, 28 restaurants, etc… and  many tourism garden dots to meet the visit needs of tourists currently. However, Tien Giang tourism has still some limitations, such as: the monotonous tourism product, sleazy environment tourism,etc…

The majority opinion of delegates concontrate on the status of development tourism in Thoi Son islet, such as: the way to increase the attractiveness of Thoi Son islet, the solution of development community tourism in Thoi Son islet, the way to keep the definition of inherent ecological tourist destination country.

Prof. Dr. Huynh Quoc Thang said that Thoi Son tourism is unprofessional and needs a rather typical pattern not as the current spread, focusing on developing community which is the most suitable to Thoi Son. Policies are needed to support the development of community tourism and its professionalisation as well as professionalizing management staff in tourism.

Addressing the workshop, Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Thanh Duc noted comments of the participants. He called for the contribution of the investment enterprises in the province. Tien Giang province always creates favorable conditions for investors in the field of tourism. The state will try to invest a complete infrastructure to support businesses.
