'Vietnam 40' photo exhibition opens
The Embassy of Ireland in Vietnam, Culture Ireland Funding and RENEW-funded project in Quang Tri co-organised a photo exhibition named ‘Vietnam 40’ at the Mine Action Visitor Centre, Quang Tri province, from June 22-29.
The exhibition displays 15 photos by Irish photographer, Ian Thuillier, who spent three months travelling from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi, through many cities and villages to capture life in Vietnam in 2015, 40 years after the war.
The photos he took on his trip are compiled in a new book, ‘Vietnam 40’ which has seen him shortlisted for this year’s Sony World Photography Awards out of over 100,000 photographers worldwide.
‘Vietnam 40’ was first exhibited in Dublin, Ireland on December 10, 2015.
After being showcased in Quang Tri province, the exhibition will move to the Museum of Folk Culture, 33 Nguyen Thai Hoc, in the ancient city of Hoi An in the central province of Quang Nam by Action for the City Development (ACCD), from July 1-8.
