Conference reviews six-month culture, sports and tourism activities
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has held a conference to review its six-month activities and propose tasks for the rest.
Accordingly, cultural and art activities and exhibitions were well-organized from the central to grass root levels, contributing to the common success of national great political events.

Over the past six months, the cultural, sports and tourism sector has popularized Vietnamese lands and people, as well as its culture to the world, with Vietnamese cultural days and weeks in Russian Federation, Japan and Republic of Korea.
Diverse activities were held for the International Day of Happiness (March 20th), Vietnam Family Day (June 28th) and National Action Month against Domestic Violence.
In addition, 21 Vietnamese athletes participated in Olympiads 2016 in Brazil.
The number of foreign arrivals to Vietnam recorded stable growth in the period, hitting over 4.7 million, including 1.2 million from China, a year-on-year rise of 47.5 percent.
In the remaining months of the year, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue organizing cultural and arts activities to serve political tasks; complete the plan on Ho Chi Minh award and the state award on culture and arts; hold a conference to review the 15 – year movement to unite all people to build cultural lifestyle; organize the 5th Asian Beach Games 2016; prepare for participation in Olympiads 2016; work with ministries, sectors and localities to increase inspection of tourism activities, and strictly handle relevant violations in tourism management and businesses.
Vietnam is set to welcome 8.7 million international arrivals and serve 41 million domestic visitors in 2016, raking in around VND 270 trillion.
