Vietnam to be represented by 23 athletes at Rio Olympics
A total of 23 athletes will represent Vietnam at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil this August, according to the General Department of Sports and Physical Training.

Among the Olympians, four will compete in weightlifting, four in fencing, two in swimming, two in shooting, two in badminton, two in gymnastics, two in athletics, two in rowing, two in wrestling and one in judo.
The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism recently issued Decision No. 2238/QĐ-BVHTTDL on announcement of the official 50-member list of the Vietnam sports delegation to the Rio Games.
Besides the 23 athletes, the contingent, headed by deputy head of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, will feature another 16 trainers and experts, and 11 officials and doctors.
A send-off will be held in Hanoi on July 20 for the Vietnamese delegation before their departure for Rio a week later.
The Rio Olympics will take place from August 5 to 21, with over 10,500 athletes from 206 countries and territories around the world competing in 306 events in 28 sports.
