Vietnam's tennis star makes Japan F3 Futures semifinals
Vietnam’s no. 1 tennis player Ly Hoang Nam made light work of Chinese Gao Xin in the quarterfinals of the Japan F3 Futures tournament on March 23, securing a place in the semi-finals.

Nam is demonstrating brilliant form in Kofu city. After playing two consecutive matches on Thursday, the Vietnamese star carried on with his impressive performance this morning defeating the no. 6 seed 6-3, 6-1 after one hour and 12 minutes.
Next up for Nam will be a semifinal clash with third seeded Niki Takuto of Japan.
Regardless of the semifinal result, Nam has successfully added six points to his ATP elo rating after securing a spot in the semi-final.
Earlier in the men’s doubles category, Nam and his partner Yusuke Takahashi lost to No. 4 Japanese duo Yuichi Ito and Jumpei Yamasaki after three sets (2-6, 6-3, 7-10) in the opening round.
The Vietnamese tennis star has enjoyed a promotion in the latest ATP rankings, climbing five places to 630th position in the men’s singles event and moving up one place to 587th in the world men’s doubles ranking.
