Vietnamese lifters shine at world champs

My lifted 72kg after her third attempt, bagging a bronze medal at her world debut. He Si of China won gold, lifting 81kg. Han Jong-sim from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea stood second with a result of 79kg.
In the clean & jerk event, My ranked eighth with 85kg. In total her position is fourth.
My grabbed 22 points for Vietnam in the team ranking.
On April 6, Nguyen Thi Thuy Tien ranked 15th in the women’s 53kg, and scored 11 points. Vo Thi Ngoc Thanh was 18th in the same event, with eight points.
The Vietnamese women’s squad completed its tournament, a qualification event of the 2018 Youth Olympics, with a total of 71 points. They will have to wait to see if they can secure a place at the Argentinean Games next October.
On April 4, Le Nguyen Quoc Bao of Vietnam won a gold medal, lifting 96kg in the snatch of the men’s 50kg category. He was third in the clean and jerk (119kg) and second in the total (215kg).
The tournament will wrap up on April 10.
