Exhibition explores life in Vietnam through lens of young photographers
More than 180 photos capturing daily life in Vietnam are being displayed at an exhibition which opened in Hanoi on October 10.
The photos are selected from nearly 3,250 entries sent by 658 entrants across the country to the 2017 Young Photography Festival, which was launched in March this year.

The biennial event, the second of its kind, is hosted by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST), the Party Central Committee's Commission for Communication and Education, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and the Ministry of Education and Training.
At the opening ceremony, the organising board awarded the first prize worth VND 30 million to a photo entitled ‘Mam Song’ (Seed of Life) by Tran Vu Quang Duy from Ho Chi Minh City.
Two second prizes, each worth VND 20 million, went to Nguyen Quoc Ai from Ho Chi Minh City and Le Trong Khang from Quang Nam province for their works ‘Bong Ke’ (Speaking Shadow) and ‘Sac Mau Tam Thanh’ (Colours of Tam Thanh), respectively.
Four third and 19 consolation prizes were also presented to other outstanding entries. \
Speaking at the event, MOCST Deputy Minister Vuong Duy Bien said that throughout its two editions, the festival has presented vivid illustrations of the land, people, culture and socio-economic development of Vietnam through the lens of the Vietnamese youth, thus contributing to promoting Vietnam’s beauty to international visitors.
It has also offered a platform for young photography lovers to show off their talents, boost creativity, and exchange experience with each other.
The exhibition will run until October 16 at 29 Hang Bai Street, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi.
