Fine art exhibition honours President Ho Chi Minh
Over 40 fine art works, honouring President Ho Chi Minh, have been showcasing at the Hue University of Fine Arts, in Hue city.
With the theme “Our Uncle Ho”, on display are fine art works of the Hue University of Fine Arts’ staffs, lecturers and students in the many categories: sculpture, painting, computer graphics with materials such as oil paint, acrylic, wood carving, computer graphics, sculpture and synthetic materials.
The works show the image of President Ho Chi Minh with a great human spirit and the mark of his revolutionary career.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Phan Thanh Binh, who is Secretary of the Party Committee, Headmaster of the Hue University of Fine Arts said that this is the first time an organised special exhibition such as this has been held. The event offers all staffs, lecturers and students of the university an opportunity to approach, create and express deep feelings about President Ho Chi Minh.
On this occasion, the organising board presented prizes to encourage the university’s staffs, lecturers and students to participate in the exhibition. Accordingly, the A prize was awarded to "Portrait of Uncle Ho" by Nguyen Van Hoang; meanwhile the B prize was awarded to author Le Dang Thong with his work "Portrait of President Ho Chi Minh" (oil painting). In addition there were two C prizes that were also presented to two works by Nguyen Vu Lan and Tran Thi Thanh Dung.
The exhibition runs until December 23.
