An Thanh Thuy is recognized as the new rural commune

On January 26, An Thanh Thuy commune has just been proclaimed the new rural commune by Cho Gao district People’s Committee and the Provincial Standing Steering Committee for National Targeted Program to build new rural areas. Deputy Chairman of the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee Le Van Nghia attended this event.

After six years of implementation of the national target program on building new rural areas, An Thanh Thuy commune has mobilized investment capital of over VND170 billion including VND58 billion contributed by people.

For production, the commune mobilized people to invest in production and development of high economic value crops and livestock. Since then, people's life was raised, specifically, the per capita income of the commune reached VND38.79 million VND per year, the rate of poor households decreased to 2.34%.

About education, culture, society and the environment: The kindergarten was newly built, three schools  met the national standards; over 85% of people participated in health insurance; 100% of people used hygienic water; the cultural facilities was invested; the social order was stable, etc…

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee Le Van Nghia recognized and praised the achievements that the commune has gained in the construction of the new rural. The commune has continued to work out plans and solutions to raise the new rural criteria, to mobilize people to protect the environment, to develop waste collection and treatment systems, effectively treat waste water, etc…

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Tien Giang province awarded the emulation flag and the welfare fund worth VND1 billion to An Thanh Thuy commune.
