The event will start with two seminars on the current situation in the Vietnamese literary world and poetry recitals by members of poetry clubs. The opening ceremony will take place on March 2, the fifteenth day of the first lunar month.
This year’s event has attracted the participation of 60 poetry clubs and four guest poets from Japan. Two spaces will be set up during the event to introduce poems by both veteran and young Vietnamese poets.
According to the Vietnam Writers’ Association, the event’s organiser, a total of 50 verses will be attached to red balloons and released into the sky. The verses, selected from different generations of Vietnamese poets, should honour the beauty of poetry and its contributions to the country’s development.
A photo exhibition portraying the Vietnamese writers who participated in the General Offensive and the Spring Uprising of 1968 will be held on the occasion.
