Vietnam U19s invited to friendly tournament in RoK
ABO/NDO – Vietnam’s U19 football squad have been invited to play in a four-team international friendly tournament in the Republic of Korea (RoK) from April 18 - 22.
The four-team friendly tournament is considered an useful warm-up for Vietnam U19s ahead of their AFC campaign. |
The tourney includes Mexico, Morocco, and the RoK team, and is seen as an extremely useful warm-up for head coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his Vietnam U19 players ahead of the 2018 AFC Championship in Indonesia coming up in October.
Prior to their departures for the AFC campaigns, Vietnam U16s and Vietnam U19s will undergo an additional training course in Japan, during which each team will play three friendly matches.
All of the costs for the Japan trip will be covered by the partner side.
Vietnam U19s have qualified for the 2018 AFC Championship finals as Group H leaders, following their three wins over Macau (China) (2-0), Chinese Taipei (2-1), and Laos (4-0) in the qualification round.
The 2018 AFC U19 Championship is set to take place in Indonesia from October 18 to November 4, with the participation of 16 teams. The top four teams of the tournament will qualify for the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup as AFC representatives.
