65 outstanding works receive Literature and Arts Awards 2018

ABO/NDO – A total of 65 outstanding works were presented with the Literature and Arts Association at a conference held in Hanoi on January 9, to review the operation of the Vietnam Union of Literary and Arts Associations in 2018.

The winning works stood out from nearly 350 entries sent by 57 out of 63 local literature and arts associations nationwide, as well as the union’s member associations at the central level.

According to poet Huu Thinh, Chairman of the Union, this year recorded the largest number of participating local literature and arts associations over the past two decades.

 

He applauded that the entries sent from local associations featured fresh topics, many of them touching upon pressing issues in modern life, including the fight against corruption and national construction.

Reviewing the Union’s operation in 2018, he affirmed that literature and arts activities have been improved in terms of quality and contributed to maintaining and tightening the link between the people and artists.

 

Regarding its orientations for 2019, Chairman Thinh said that the union will continue focussing on supporting the production and research of literature and arts. The union will also promote its activeness in hosting training courses and field trips for its members.
