The handwritten book was implemented during two years from 2017 and through 2018, replicating the content of the book ‘People’s General – Vo Nguyen Giap – the years of his life’ which was re-published by the Young Publisher in 2015.
The book is 2.04m long, 1.36m wide and 0.48m high and has a total weight of around 500kg.
Its cover is made of old redwood (afzelia xylocarpa) and measures up a 2.04mx 1.36m, while the 24k gold-inlaid portrait of General Giap is sized at 0.5mx0.7m.
The 96cm x 165cm pages inside are made of burlap. The Vietnamese calligraphy articles were written in Chinese ink and acrylic.
The book was arranged in five alternating blocks, featuring five special works.
The Vietnam Records Organisation (VietKings), representing the World Record Alliance, recognised the book as a world record.
