The professors, veteran artisans and artists who gained numerous prestigious awards and significantly contributed to the development of Vietnamese stage, were honoured at the ceremony.
At the event, artists reviewed both achievements and limitations in need of being overcome in 2019 to create more high-quality art works.
This year, the VASA launched three composition camps with 45 participants as well as held field trips to Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago for five composers, directors and artists and to six sea and islands regions for 50 authors.
In addition, numerous stage festivals, seminars and exchange programmes were held, contributing to improving the quality of stage arts and honouring outstanding individuals and collectives.
The association also presented annual awards to 15 best scenarios, 13 best plays, the eight most outstanding artists and five best critical theoretical books, as well as actively joined the boards to consider the titles for artists.
The VASA is focusing on preparations for the International Experimental Theatre Festival in October and the National Stage Artists’ Association Congress in December.
On January 4, 2011, Prime Minister signed a Decision No.13/QD-TTg to choose the 12th day of the eighth lunar month as the Vietnam Stage Day.
