Ca Mau's culture, tourism week slated for December
ABO/VNA – Ca Mau province will organise a culture and tourism week this December in an effort to attract more tourists to the southernmost land of Vietnam.

Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Hieu Hung said the Ca Mau Cape Culture – Tourism Week 2019 is scheduled to take place from December 10 to 15.
It will feature a trade and tourism fair; a cuisine festival; the inauguration of a flag tower resembling the one in Hanoi, a temple dedicated to Lac Long Quan – the father of the legendary founders of Vietnam Hung Kings, and other important facilities in the Ca Mau Cape tourism area; an arts festival; a cai luong (a form of modern folk opera) competition; and a tourism seminar.
Hung highlighted the event aims to popularise the economic, cultural and tourism potential and advantages of Ca Mau, helping to turn the province into a destination for domestic and foreign visitors.
For 2019, Ca Mau aims to attract more than 1.6 million tourists and rake in over 2.42 trillion VND (104.5 million USD) in tourism revenue.
Over the last nine months, nearly 1.2 million travellers chose the province as their destination, up 15.41 percent, helping it gain some 1.86 trillion VND in revenue, up almost 11 percent year on year.
