ABO/NDO - The exhibition "Traditional Musical Instruments of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups" will take place at Can Tho City Museum, within the framework of the 3rd National 'Don Ca Tai Tu' (traditional musical art form of the south) Festival 2022, from April 7 to 11.

The exhibition aims to introduce the richness, diversity and uniqueness of traditional musical instruments of Vietnam's ethnic groups, honour national cultural identities, and promote art forms recognised by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage in general and the 'Don Ca Tai Tu' art in particular.

The exhibition content is carried out by the Museum of the Cultures of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups (MCVE) and the Vietnam Culture and Arts Exhibition Centre.

The event will introduce five spaces of traditional musical instruments from different regions, including the ethnic groups in the high mountains and northern valleys (Vietnam's northeast and northwest regions); ethnic groups in the Northern Delta and Northern midland regions; ethnic groups in the Central Coast region; ethnic groups in the central region and the Central Highlands region; and ethnic groups in the Southern region.

There is also an area displaying traditional musical instruments of the provinces and cities. In the content of the exhibition, the organisers combine a display of 100 documentary images, slide shows introducing Vietnamese ethnic musical instruments, and images of artisans and performers of ethnic musical instruments.

The online exhibition will take place from April 9 to May 30 at these website addresses: http://trienlamvhnt.vn and http://sovhttdl.cantho.gov.vn.
