123 attractive films to be screened at Hanoi International Film Festival
ABO/NDO- As many as 123 best films of Vietnamese and the world’s cinema will be introduced to audiences at the sixth Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF), starting from November 8.
The information was released by the organising board of the festival at a press conference held in Hanoi on November 7.
The opening ceremony for the sixth HANIFF will be held at the Hanoi Cultural Friendship Palace on November 8 and the awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 12.
This year’s festival will feature the participation of 800 guests and delegates from the country and the world.
Out of 123 films selected for the film festival, 31 will be screened for the long and short film categories. Specifically, there are 11 long films representing countries including India, Poland, Iran, France, Spain, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Kazakhstan, and the Philippines. The movies highlight the cultural values and people of each nation.

Meanwhile, the 20 short films are in various forms including feature films, documentary and cartoons. They offer diverse perspectives on history, nature, environment, life, family, and cultural values.
The category of world panorama will feature both short and long productions.
At the press conference, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong said the most special feature of this year's film festival is the participation of many popular films that have won awards at international film festivals.
Notably, within the programme focusing on the Republic of Korea (RoK) cinema, audiences will enjoy 7 unique films by famous directors from the RoK.
One of the programmes expected by audiences is the series of domestic films. At this year’s event, Vietnamese cinema features the participation of 45 films.
In addition to three cinemas in Hanoi including National Cinema Centre, CGV Vincom Centre and BHD Cineplex, the films will be screened at three outdoor screenings around Hoan Kiem Lake and several venues in Bac Ninh Province.
