Ho Chi Minh City opens book street festival to mark Tet holiday
ABO/NDO- Nearly 100,000 books were put on display at the annual book street festival, which opened in downtown Ho Chi Minh City on February 19, in celebration of the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) festival, in the presence of Politburo member and Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen.
This year, the festival was held on Le Loi Street, District 1, covering a total area of up to 8,600 square metres.

The festival has the participation of more than 20 companion units, such as Ton Duc Thang Museum, the National Archives Centre No.2 of the State Records and Archives Department of Vietnam, prestigious publishers and book companies, such as the Su That (Truth) National Political Publishing House, the Ho Chi Minh City General Publishing House, the Ho Chi Minh City Book Distribution Corporation (Fahasa), and the Phuong Nam Culture Joint Stock Company, etc.
The festival, which has been held annually since 2011, is a popular destination for local people and foreign friends, during the biggest and most important annual festival in Vietnam, which will come early next month.
