Ao dai festival opens in Hai Phong

ABO/NDO- The 2023 Hai Phong Ao dai Festival took place at the Bach Dang Giang historical site on the night of May 12, with the participation of thousands of members of the Hai Phong Women Union and residents of the port city.

The event was also joined by a delegation of the Cuban Women Federation, who are on a visit to Vietnam.
According to President of the Hai Phong Women Union Vu Thi Kim Lien, the ao dai festival is part of a series of more than 30 events celebrating the 10th Red Flamboyant Flower Festival.

The ao dai festival features brilliant performances, reflecting the pride of the port city with a rich history and distinctive culture.

The elegant ao dai dresses on display seemed to have added new vibrant colours to the dynamic city, which has witnessed strong growth in recent years to become a regional industrial and tourism city.

Within the festival, residents and visitors had the opportunity to learn about the history of ao dai through various collections with designs from the past to the present.
