Ethnic groups in Son La Province joyfully celebrate National Day
ABO/NDO- These days, ethnic groups in border communes and villages of the northern province of Son La are joyfully celebrating National Day (September 2).
For ethnic groups in the northwest region and Son La Province in particular, National Day is widely observed as the Independence Festival.
On this day, local people often get up early and head to the market to join various exciting activities, such as art performances, folk games, and sporting events.

Border guards of the Son La Provincial High Command coordinated with functional agencies, to organise free health examinations and provide free medicine to people living in the border areas, which have contributed to consolidating the bond between the locals and the army.
Trang A Long, a H'Mong ethnic man from Phieng Cai village, Long Sap commune, Moc Chau district, shared that every year when the Independence Festival arrives, locals always eagerly dress up in their most beautiful outfits to participate in various activities, such as Khen dancing, Pao throwing, and cake making.
Sharing more about the Independence Festival, Mua A Pha from Chieng Hac commune, Moc Chau district, expressed his thanks to the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, for taking great care of ethnic groups, including the H’mong people, so that they can live a prosperous and peaceful life.
