More than 300 children join painting contest about Hanoi

ABO/NDO- More than 300 Vietnamese and foreign children joined the international painting contest entitled ‘I love Hanoi - City for Peace’, which kicked off at Tay Ho district’s creative space in Hanoi on October 14.

The contest, jointly held by the Hanoi Municipal Department of Culture and Sports, the City Union of Friendship Organisations, the City Cultural Centre, and the Hanoi Peace Committee, is among the activities to celebrate the 69th anniversary of Hanoi's Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - 2023).

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organisations Tran Thi Phuong said, that the event aimed to educate children about love for their homeland, love for peace and humanity, and nurture their dream of a world of peace, stability and development, without war and poverty.

Prizes presented to the most outstanding entries of the contest.

It also created a venue for children to show off their painting skills while encouraging passion for painting and creativity.

At the event, students from primary and secondary schools, arts clubs in Hanoi, as well as those from embassies and international schools drew paintings on various topics, including daily life, nature, peace, their love for the homeland and Hanoi, as well as pressing issues in today’s life such as environment protection, war, poverty, and diseases.

The organising board presented one first, five second, 10 third, and 20 consolation prizes to the most outstanding entries of the contest.
