Films by celebrated director Dang Nhat Minh to be screened at Da Nang Asian Film Festival 2024
ABO/NDO- A programme on screening selected films by celebrated director, People’s Artist Dang Nhat Minh, will be held within the framework of the second Da Nang Asian Film Festival 2024.
The programme will introduce cinema lovers to several of Minh’s classic films, which have won many prestigious domestic and international awards, such as ‘Bao Gio Cho Den Thang Muoi’ (When October Comes), ‘Ha Noi Mua Dong Nam 46’ (Hanoi in Winter 1946), ‘Mua Oi’ (The Guava House), ‘Dung Dot’ (Don’t Burn), and ‘Hoa Nhai’ (Jasmine).
Born in Hue in 1938, Minh began making documentaries in 1965, with his first work 'Theo Chan Nhung Nguoi Dia Chat' (On the Trails of Geologists).

Minh, former chairman of the Vietnam Cinema Association, was honoured with many domestic and international awards. He was conferred with the title of People's Artist in 1993 and granted the Ho Chi Minh Award in 2007.
Taking place from July 2 to 6 in Da Nang City, the Da Nang Asian Film Festival 2024, will bring together leading filmmakers from throughout the Asian region.
It aims to honour excellent cinematographic works, encourage talents from both Vietnam and throughout the Asia-Pacific region, and widely introduce new and high-value Asian and Vietnamese cinematographic works to the public.
The event will be co-organised by the Vietnam Association of Film Promotion and Development, Da Nang authorities, and the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC).
