Programme introduces cultural identities of Lo Lo ethnic community in Cao Bang

ABO/NDO- A cultural day of Lo Lo ethnic group was held in Ca Meng Village, Duc Hanh Commune, Bao Lam District, Cao Bang Province, on May 4.

The event featured a folk singing contest, a show featuring the traditional costume of the Lo Lo ethnic community, and a brocade weaving competition.

Visitors to the event could take part in various folk games such as tug of war, stick pushing, and carrying baskets of corn on the back.

Booths displaying agricultural products and handicraft products of Bao Lam District were also set up at the event.

According to Ma Gia Hanh, Chairman of the Bao Lam District People’s Committee, the district has a population of 65,000, including nine ethnic groups. Of whom, there are nearly 1,340 Lo Lo ethnic people living in four villages in Duc Hanh Commune.

The Lo Lo ethnic people in Bao Lam District has many unique traditional cultural identities, which can be seen through their costumes, folk songs, and bronze drum dance.

In recent years, thanks to the due attention and care of local authorities, the livelihood of ethnic groups in Bao Lam District, including the Lo Lo people, has been significantly improved.
