Vietnam Olympians arrive in France

ABO/NDO- Twenty-three out of the 39 members of the Vietnam sports delegation to the Paris Olympics 2024 have checked in the Olympics Village in Paris.

The latest ones – cyclist Nguyen Thi That and coach Huynh Van Chanh - arrived at the village on July 22 (local time) as those of archery, judo, rowing, boxing, shooting, and badminton teams had come earlier.

As soon as completing check-in procedures, the athletes immediately implemented practising schedules.
Officials of the Vietnam Sports delegation have regularly contacted, worked, and coordinated with the organising committee of the event to complete the work of welcoming the members, registering practicing and competition schedules and finalising the programme of the Vietnamese sports delegation in the coming days.

Ten members of the Vietnamese delegation including six athletes will attend the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic 2024 on July 26, with badminton player Le Duc Phat and cyclist Nguyen Thi That to carry the flag for Vietnam.

On July 25, representatives of the delegation will attend the international summit on sports and sustainable development in Paris. In addition to discussions, the event is expected to launch a global initiative "Sports and Sustainable Development".

The Paris Olympics 2024 will take place from July 26 to August 11 in Paris and nearby areas, featuring 329 events across 32 sports disciplines.

The 16 Vietnamese athletes will compete in 11 sports.
