Friendship cycling event kicks off 10th Vietnam-Japan Festival

ABO/NDO- A friendship cycling event on the morning of March 8 marked the official start of the 10th Vietnam-Japan Festival in Ho Chi Minh City, drawing the enthusiastic participation of delegates from both countries.

The cycling route began at Ba Son Station on Metro Line No. 1 (Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien) and concluded at 23/9 Park in District 1, passing through major city streets such as Ton Duc Thang, Ham Nghi, and Le Loi. Cyclists also rode past iconic landmarks, including Ben Thanh Market, Bach Dang Wharf, and Ba Son Bridge.

According to participants, the event provided a unique opportunity for delegates from both nations to experience Ho Chi Minh City’s vibrant, dynamic, and modern atmosphere.

It also highlighted significant symbols of bilateral cooperation, such as the metro stations, which stand as tangible evidence of the strong partnership between the Vietnamese and Japanese governments.

Joining the ride, Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, emphasised: “This cycling event is not only a sporting activity but also a powerful message of the enduring friendship between Vietnam and Japan. It reaffirms our ‘Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World.’ At the same time, it promotes environmental consciousness, green living, and public health awareness - values shared by both nations”.
