Art programme marks 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth

ABO/NDO- On the evening of May 17, the Ho Guom Opera House coordinated with relevant units to organise the art programme entitled “Ho Chi Minh – Your Name Is the Most Beautiful” to mark the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birth (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2025).

The event was produced under the content direction of Major General and People’s Artist Nguyen Cong Bay. Artistic direction was led by People’s Artist Bui Cong Duy and artist Tran Hai Dang, with conductor Tran Nhat Minh directing the night’s performance.

As the embodiment of ardent patriotism and extraordinary leadership intellect, President Ho Chi Minh’s life and revolutionary career are inseparably tied to the glorious history of the Vietnamese nation. He made a significant contribution to the global movement for peace and progress.

Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style have become a shining beacon, guiding the entire Party, people and army through every hardship toward success.

The art programme was a symphonic tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, offering a heartfelt expression of deep gratitude. The audience was taken on a sacred and proud emotional journey through nearly 20 elaborately staged performances, connected by timeless songs. Each piece offered an authentic and humanistic perspective from composers writing about Uncle Ho with sincerity and affection. In addition to showcasing Vietnamese compositions, the programme also conveyed the perspectives of international composers and artists who wrote about President Ho Chi Minh with profound respect. The piece about Ho Chi Minh by British composer Ewan MacColl stood as vivid evidence of President Ho Chi Minh’s stature and influence, which transcended Viet Nam’s borders to reach friends across the five continents.

The performance featured many renowned artists: People’s Artist Quang Tho, People’s Artist Bui Cong Duy, Meritorious Artist Pham Khanh Ngoc, singers Pham Thu Ha, Truong Linh, Bao Yen, along with the Hanoi Symphony Orchestra and Gio Xanh Choir.
