Eleven new national intangible cultural heritage elements announced
ABO/NDO- According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, eleven new elements have been added to the national intangible cultural heritage list, including the Yen Sao Festival and the traditional knowledge of harvesting and processing agarwood in Khanh Hoa Province.
Khanh Hoa Province is home to two heritage elements: the traditional knowledge of harvesting and processing agarwood in Khanh Hoa (practised in areas such as Nha Trang City, Cam Ranh City, Ninh Hoa Town, the districts of Van Ninh, Dien Khanh, Khanh Son, Khanh Vinh, and Cam Lam), and the traditional Yen Sao Festival of Khanh Hoa (celebrated in Nha Trang City, Cam Ranh City, Ninh Hoa Town, and the Districts of Dien Khanh, Cam Lam, and Van Ninh).

Quang Ninh Province has two recognised elements: the traditional knowledge and craft of tailoring traditional costumes of the San Chi people (in Mong Cai City, the Districts of Binh Lieu, Tien Yen, and Dam Ha), and the traditional knowledge and decorative techniques in costume-making of the Thanh Phan Dao people (in Ha Long City, and the Districts of Ba Che, Tien Yen, Binh Lieu, Dam Ha, and Hai Ha).
Dong Nai Province also has two heritage elements: the traditional Sayangva Festival (a ritual to worship the Rice God) of the Cho Ro people (practised in Long Khanh City, and the Districts of Xuan Loc, Dinh Quan, Thong Nhat, Vinh Cuu, and Cam My), and the traditional commemorative festival for General Nguyen Huu Canh (held in Hiep Hoa Ward, Bien Hoa City).
Other recognised elements include the traditional brocade weaving craft of the Thai people in Nghe An Province; the social custom and belief of the new rice celebration of the Si La people in Chung Chai Commune, Muong Nhe District, Dien Bien Province; the traditional Thak Con Festival (coconut offering) of the Khmer people in An Hiep Commune, Chau Thanh District, Soc Trang Province; the traditional festival of Ong Pagoda in Tan Quang Commune, Van Lam District, Hung Yen Province; and the social custom and belief of the traditional wrestling festival of Co Trai Village, Kien Hung Commune, Kien Thuy District, Hai Phong City.
