Speaking at a conference held in Hanoi on September 13 to review the domestic vaccine production and management, the Government official also urged the facilities to be active in attracting investment and carrying out research for new products in order to meet the domestic demand and for export.
The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Science and Technology were requested to provide the facilities with access to preferential loans to upgrade infrastructure, and conduct research on vaccines listed in the Programme on developing domestic products.
According to the Ministry of Health, Vietnam now has four vaccine production facilities, providing 10 out 12 kinds of vaccines that are being used in the Expanded Immunisation Programmme.
The quality of made-in-Vietnam vaccines are highly appreciated by the World Health Organisation as they have made significant contributions to disease prevention and control in the country.
