Addressing the gathering, Nhan reviewed the rapid development of ICT in the country, turning a country importing equipment, computers and mobile phones into a nation exporting ICT products.

In 2013, Vietnam was among the top ten Asian countries with the highest growth of Internet users, reaching 33.19 million, ranking fourth in e-government in the Southeast Asia and 99th of 193 nations. Most of the world’s leading groups, including Intel, Microsoft, IBM, HP, Alcatel-Lucent, have come to the country, not only for domestic consumption, but for long-term investment.Vietnam has become the second largest software outsourcing partner of Japan since 2012, Nhan said.

He expressed his hope that co-operation among economies and businesses in Asia and Oceania would flourish and Vietnam and international friends would work together to form a dynamic and creative community, driving a locomotive for the world’s economic growth.

At the programme, the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) presented certificates to the country’s 30 leading ICT businesses in 2014 and introduced them to the international community.
