The signatories are Major General Do Quyet, Director of the Vietnam Military Medical University, and Associate Professor Yeoh Khay Guan, Rector of the National University of Singapore (NUS)’s Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
The document covers specific collaborative initiatives, including a special focus on training.
The two sides will exchange information on science and technology, seek mutually-beneficial partnership opportunities, and organise academic and scientific research activities.
They have cooperated in the field since 2008 through delegation exchanges studying experience in designing effective training programmes, patient treatment, and conducting research.
In 2015, Singaporean doctors are scheduled to visit Vietnam as part of the research cooperation programme.
The Vietnamese delegation, led by Quyet, is on a working visit to Singapore from February 1-8 to participate in the 12th Asia-Pacific Medical Education Conference and the Raffles Dialogue on the future of human well-being and security.
