Vietnamese boys compete in U15 football event in Japan

Vietnam’s U15 football team has left Vietnam for Japan to participate in the Japan-Mekong U15 Football Competition, which will take place at the J Green Sakai Centre from July 1st-3rd.

The competition has eight teams from Japan and Southeast Asian countries.

Vietnam was drawn into Group A alongside Japan, Cambodia and Vissel Kobe FC. Group B includes Laos, Thailand, Myanmar and Sanfrecce Hiroshima.

The top teams from each group will compete for the title while the second-placed teams in each group will vie for third and fourth places.

Vietnam will play Vissel Kobe and Cambodia on July 1st and Japan on July 2nd.

According to Dinh The Nam, the tournament is a good opportunity to select the best players for the Southeast Asian U16 Football Championship in July and the qualification round of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U16 Championship.
