The 21st National Youth Informatics Contest opened in Binh Duong province on July 31, bringing together nearly 250 competitors across the country.

The contestants are divided into five groups - elementary, secondary and high school students, software creation and hardware programming.

The contest has been held annually sine 1995 by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Science and Technology, and Vietnam Television.

Around 100 entries were sent to the organising board in the fields of education, entertainment and the environment.

According to PhD Pham Ngoc Hung, head of the organising board, the submitted products were appreciated for their high quality, up to date technology and high practical application.

Throughout its 21 editions, the contest has established itself as the biggest and most long-standing competition for children and adolescents in the field of informatics. Not only encouraging creativity and application of information and technology in life, the contest has also contributed to developing IT human resources for the country.
