Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Viet Thanh noted that the event sought to strengthen linkage between the State, businesses and scientists.
On the threshold of the country’s comprehensive integration into the world, Technmart 2015 is a good chance for Vietnamese businesses to update their technology and equipment in order to increase productivity, quality and competitiveness, he stressed.
Themed ‘Partnership for integration and sustainable development’, the fair brings together over 700 businesses with 600 booths showcasing around 3,000 products.
The event has a wide range of types of products on display, including products in the fields of mechanical-automation, information technology, chemistry, pharmaceuticals, electronics, agriculture, and environmental treatment.
The various technologies and equipment on display are the outcomes of successful experimentation and application by research and development organisations as well as research groups and individuals.
They include recently finalised and qualified products which are ready for transfer and which have been registered for intellectual property protection.
Imported technologies of high quality, reasonable price and which have been appropriated due to domestic demand are also on sale at the event.
It has also drawn the participation of 57 amateur inventors and foreign businesses and organisations from Russia, Japan, Taiwan (China) and Laos.
In addition to technology showcases, presentations and demonstrations, the fair also include S&T consultancy service, scientific workshops and the awards ceremony of international Technmart Vietnam Golden Cup.
The event also provides a good opportunity for participating businesses to seek partners and make trade deals as well as sign established MoU’s.
The fair, co-organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology, ASEAN Committee on Science and Technology, and People’s Committees of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, will last until October 4 at Hanoi International Centre for Exhibition, 91 Tran Hung Dao Street, Hoan Kiem district.
