4 teachers and students of Tien Giang honored

On October 19, the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) held a ceremony to honour outstanding teachers and students in the 2015 – 2016 school year as well as launched emulation movements to encourage creativity and innovation in teaching and learning in the 2016-2020 period. This event was attended by Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh.

As many as 252 teachers and students from 63 provinces, cities were honoured at a ceremony. The delegation of Tien Giang province included 2 outstanding teachers (Pham Thi Thuy Oanh of Thu Khoa Huan primary school in My Tho city, Huynh Kieu Quyen of Xuan Dong nursery school in Cho gao district) and 2 outstanding students of Tien Giang Specialized High School (Truong Hai Dang and Trinh Gia Han) honored.

At the ceremony, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh praised the teachers and students’ efforts and spoke highly of their achievements. The Vice President also expressed hope that the MoET would continue to facilitate education and training, and support teachers in disadvantaged areas, especially areas recently affected by flooding in the central region.
