Participants at the workshop underlined the necessity of improving the capacity for water resource management and urban planning, saying that this would help increase development opportunities in the context of the scarcity of natural resources and decreases in financial assistance, generating a necessary development of technology.
Some suggested State management agencies and enterprises should have a deeper understanding of water resources to create suitable solutions to effectively manage water in river basins, thereby ensuring sustainable socioeconomic development in the locality.
Moreover, it is also essential to continue seeking groundwater and creating a fund to support water for residents, while conducting a survey on and a planning scheme for water resources and developing a master plan for irrigation development.
Participants at the workshop also discussed ways to enhance links in using and managing water sources and river basins in combination with green growth, ecological preservation, coping with climate change, food and energy security and improving the lives of locals.
A photo exhibition featuring the idea of water protection was also held on the sidelines of the event.
