Director of the Department of Education and Training Nguyen Hong Oanh, reported the result of the school year 2016-2017.
In the past school year, the entire education sector continued to develop in scale, improve the quality and effectiveness of education and develop the quality of high quality human resources. The quality of student conduct and academic progress was increasing.
At primary level, there were 86,965 students completed the Vietnamese language (65%); 96,372 students completed the math (72%). At the junior secondary level, there were 33,463 students rated good level (33.7%), 8,533 students graduated high school (21.3%). The network of schools and classes at all educational levels has been improved and the whole province has 195/577 schools reached the national standard (33.8%). The extra teaching activity at grassroots levels has been step by step regulated.
Speaking at the working session, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Huong highly appreciated the results of the national high school exams and asked the education sector to fairly and objectively evaluate the quality of a student in the coming time. Department leaders also need to compare the quality of education of the province with other provinces in the Mekong Delta to see the strong and weak surface. It is necessary to maintain and regularly renovate facilities, etc...
