The project with a total investment capital of USD 1.2 million including USD 1 million funded by NMAV and the rest as corresponding capital of the province is deployed in the Tan Phu Dong coastal district where is heavily suffering the consequences of climate change. People's life is difficult, especially for women and children who are vulnerable to climate change.

The purpose of the project aims to equip skills for natural disaster prevention, climate change adaptation for women, children and disabilities through capital support activities and equipping them with knowledge and skills, expanding production models of the climate change adaptation to increase income for disadvantaged farmers, supporting groups of disabilities to integrate into the community, etc...

According to the project roadmap, by the year 2022, over 225,000 people in the project area will be vulnerable to climate change to be well equipped with the knowledge, skills and support needed to effectively respond, actively prevent and mitigate natural disasters. Among them, there are over 47,000 direct beneficiaries.

The main partners of the project are the Tien Giang Women's Union, the Tan Phu Dong district People's Committee, the Tan Phu Dong district Women's Union and the Tien Giang Women's Economic Development Assistance Fund.

This is a very practical project to help vulnerable people to benefit through practical activities such as organizing training courses on startups for women, basic knowledge as well as practical knowledge of climate change response, social integration and gender equality for boys and girls in the area; assisting families to increase their income to improve their response to climate change.

A number of key activities in 2018 are being implemented by the Tien Giang Women's Union in collaboration with Tan Phu Dong district such as: training lectures, building livelihoods adaptation models, training on start-up and business for women, etc...
