Founded in 1998, the VACNE has gathered leading scientists on natural resources and environment in the country. As a result, the association has been making many contributions in educating, raising awareness and disseminating knowledge about environmental protection among the people. The VACNE has also helped to bring knowledge on protection of nature and the environment to the curriculum in schools, fighting against all acts of violation of law and regulations on protection of the natural environment.
Meanwhile, the association has also made a lot of positive contributions through scientific research, technology transfer, technical consultancy, scientific criticism, propaganda and building sustainable production models.
Highly appreciating VACNE's efforts in protecting nature and the environment, Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam stressed that the development requirements must be met faster but also must ensure sustainability and environmental protection. If only for the immediate development goals without paying attention to the environment, it will take a lot of time and cost to overcome, he added.
In addition, environmental protection activities are not only related to businesses and households, but also to individual people in daily life.
The problem is how to mobilise the power from the community, the mechanism for businesses, mobilise the masses to participate in the movement to protect the environment. It is necessary for cooperation from the Government, Ministries, Government at all levels, businesses and communities, especially in the role of associations and unions, Deputy Prime Minister said.
