Outstanding students of "Sinh Vien 5 Tot" movement honoured
ABO/NDO - The Vietnamese Students Association held a ceremony in Hanoi on January 7 to present the "Sinh Vien 5 Tot" (Five-Virtue Student) and "Sao Thang Gieng" (January Star) awards to outstanding students nationwide on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of the Vietnamese Students' Day.

The event was attended by Politburo member and Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong and Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC's Commission for Communication and Education Vo Van Thuong.
This year, the "Sinh Vien 5 Tot" award was presented to 189 students who fulfilled five criteria in studying and self-improvement, including good ethics, good learning, good skills, good integration, and good health. This is the largest number of students to be granted the title since the launch of the movement.
Meanwhile, 137 students were presented with "Sao Thang Gieng" awards 2018, in recognition of their significant academic results and their active participation in the activities of the Vietnamese Students Association and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
Addressing the ceremony, Politburo member Vo Van Thuong spoke highly of the movement and expressed his belief that the movement will create a favourable environment to develop high-quality human resources for national development.
He congratulated award winners while expecting that winners of the awards will continue to get better achievements in the future.
The "Sinh Vien 5 Tot" movement was launched by the Vietnamese Students Association Central Committee with the aim of encouraging Vietnamese students to strive for mastery to meet the requirements for national development in the new period.
