Seminar spotlights Vietnam's digital transformation efforts

ABO/NDO - FPT Corporation held a seminar on February 20 with the participation of more than 30 senior corporate leaders from different sectors to discuss digital transformation in Vietnam.

In a letter sent to the conference, Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung said the government has determined that developing the digital economy is one of the key tasks in enhancing the competitiveness of the economy.

With that in mind, the government is aiming to create a national database system and launch a national public service portal that connects with local portals to monitor public service delivery.
 
Minister Dung stated that the government is acting as a model in digital transformation, creating the foundation and best conditions for enterprises to grow.
 
Therefore, more than ever, the government needs the business community to follow suit and take bold actions, said Dung, adding that Vietnam needs enterprises that can lead.
 
At the event, DuPont’s former CIO Phuong Tram shared his experience in digital transformation at the US$85 billion company.
 
He said digital transformation, which can bring substantial benefits for an enterprise, can begin with a small idea and can be completed in three to six months.
 
For his part, FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh shared the IT company’s strategy in digital transformation and ambition to become one of the leading digitally transformed enterprises in the world in the next ten years.
 
He said digital transformation brings about new and bigger opportunities in the IT market, noting that this strategy both enhance FPT’s role and value and creates high value for businesses accompanying FPT in the process.
