The project of high-tech vegetable production area implemented

ABO – Tien Giang province Department of Agriculture and Rural Development organized a conference to implement the project "High-tech vegetable production area in the period of 2018-2020 and orientation to 2025" according to Decision 610 of the Tien Giang provincial People's Committee.

The project of high-tech vegetable production area is expected to be implemented in 34 communes in 10 districts, towns and cities, with a total cultivated area of more than 6,000 hectares.

In 2019, the project will build 9 demonstration sites covering an area of 16.2 hectares, thereby replicating demonstration sites to 1,700 hectares in 2020 and the period of 2022-2025 increasing to 2,700 hectares, aiming to increase production efficiency ranges from 40 to 60% compared to traditional production.

The total estimated cost of implementing the project is nearly 8.2 billion VND, including: state budget, provincial agricultural career, new rural construction and reciprocal from participating organizations and individuals.

The project has many major contents such as: planning high-tech vegetable production areas in accordance with the development plan of the agricultural sector; Propaganda to develop high-tech vegetable production; Applying vegetable cultivation technology in membrane houses, net houses and outdoor organic vegetables; human resource training; environmental protection, trade promotion, product consumption and implementation of other policies for the project area.
