At the ceremony, the organising board presented 12 prizes, worth a total of VND 600 million, to the best entries, which stood out from the 184 submissions to the contest.
The grand prize went to the ‘Housing model for Southwest region’ project by a group of architects from the Ministry of Construction’s Institute for Architecture.
Architect Pham Cong Hung from Hanoi won the first prize and ‘Most Favourite Design’ prize for their housing design in Vietnam’s northern region.
Launched in November 2018, the contest targeted architects, designing consultancy companies, investors and contractors nationwide with a call to join hands to propose designs for proper housing models for each area of Vietnam.
The designs are required to integrate green solutions while fitting with local natural and climate conditions as well as upholding the indigenous culture.
