Vice Chairman of the PPC urges drastic measures to prevent dengue fever outbreak

Currently, Tien Giang is the province with the highest number of cases of 9/20 provinces and cities in the South. According to the Tien Giang Center for Disease Control, as of August 25, the whole province recorded nearly 2,665 dengue cases, an increase of 182.8% compared to the same period in 2018. In particular, the province recorded 1 death in Cho Gao district. Thus, from the beginning of the year until now, there have been 2 deaths due to dengue fever. 3 localities with high number of dengue cases are Cai Be district with 541 cases, Chau Thanh district with 453 cases and TP. My Tho with 396 cases.

2019 is expected to be a five-cycle cycle of dengue fever in Tien Giang province so the risk of diseases will increase rapidly and complicate in the future.

At the conference, leaders of the health sector, departments, agencies and leaders of districts with high number of cases reported the disease situation and discussed solutions to strengthen dengue fever inspection and surveillance activities.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Dung directed important tasks to strengthen the prevention and control of epidemics. He emphasized that the Chairman of the district People's Committee is responsible to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial People's Committee in the prevention and control of epidemics and the protection of community health in the area; Chairman of the Communes People's Committee are responsible to the Chairman of the District People's Committee for the implementation of prevention and control of epidemic in the locality. At the same time, he assigned responsibilities to members of the Provincial Steering Committee in charge of each district, city and town to find the most positive solution to implement disease prevention quickly and effectively.

After the end of the conference, members of the Provincial Steering Committee Immediately came to the area in charge to grasp the situation and acknowledge the local difficulties in the prevention and control of epidemic to get timely support solutions.
