On the occasion, Vietnam Report also announced the top 10 prestigious software service, solution, and system integration providers of Vietnam in 2021.

According to Vietnam Report General Director Vu Dang Vinh, COVID-19 has fostered the request for digital transformation and investment in technology among businesses and organisations across the country, which brings both challenges and opportunities for the sustainable development of technology companies.

He stressed that the digital transformation may take place even more robustly when customers realise the process’s benefits in reducing costs and increasing productivity post COVID-19.A survey by Vietnam Report in March 2021 showed that information and communications technology (ICT) is predicted to be among the top seven sectors with the highest growth potential in the next three years.

However, Vinh warned that although the ICT sector has gained significant progresses in modernising and expanding its network in recent years, the telecommunications market is facing saturation of traditional telecommunications services, which can lead to a sharp drop in traditional telecommunication service revenue.

He also pointed out other challenges facing ICT firms including the limitations in research and development conditions for technological products, the shortage of high-quality human resources, and the lack of supporting policies, institutions, and legal regulations.
