Viettel receives US protection for two more patents
ABO/NDO - The Viettel Aerospace Institute under Viettel Group has been granted exclusive protection by the US Patent Office (USPTO) for its two patents in the fields of optoelectronics and materials science.
The first patent is a curved mirror optical system for medium wave thermal imaging devices that was created in 2017, addressing the problem of designing and manufacturing camera cores, thereby minimising import.
The second patent involves a method to manufacture composite materials that can withstand high temperatures and meet the harsh conditions of the military field.

To date, Viettel has been granted protection for 56 patents in Vietnam and 11 patents in the US.
According to the Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam, Viettel is the technology firm having the largest number of patent applications and protected patents annually in Vietnam for 2021.
The company’s patents are increasing over the years and cover both military and civilian fields, affirming its pioneering position in technology as it is working to become a high-tech military-industrial group.
